CASTILLEJOS, Zambales–Authorities on Monday (June 30) arrested a Korean national and his girlfriend for alleged illegal recruitment and human trafficking.

The suspects were identified as Kim Tae Hyoung and Cynthina Raboy who were accused of recruiting graduates of Korean language schools for supposed jobs in South Korea.

Police said the Korean, who introduced himself to victims as a representative of Hyundai, has been asking each job seeker to pay P40,000 as a placement fee.

The couple were arrested in an entrapment operation that was carried out by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and local police after receiving numerous complaints from victims.

According to the victims, the suspects failed to deliver the papers for the supposed overseas jobs.
