27 Mar 2021 – NTUC Phl affiliates are keeping trade unionism  alive despite the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns and quarantines. Affiliates Obrero, HEAL Phils, PLTIU, PACIWU, NUBE, PFL, NLU, NATOW have reported to have reached collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), or about to sign agreements, after online or limited face-to-face negotiations, in manufacturing, hospital, bus transportation, electricity, banking, insurance, schools, other enterprises. Negotiations with gaming companies are about to start.  This is remarkable given that there have been few CBAs that have been concluded since March 2020. With operating difficulties, agreements have not been as good as in the past 10 years. A number of CBAs have been extended without improved economic provisions.
