MANILA, Philippines — The management of west zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services and its rank-and-file union Maynilad Water and Sewerage Union–Philippine Transportation and General Workers Organization (MWSU-PGTWO), recently signed a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA).

In a statement yesterday, Maynilad said the new CBA, which covers more than 1,100 rank-and-file employees, was signed on Nov. 29.

Under the new CBA, Maynilad’s rank-and-file employees will be entitled to annual salary increases for two years, a signing bonus, and an increase in the health subsidy of their dependents.

“This is another peaceful conclusion of a CBA with the rank-and-file union after only four negotiation meetings,”Maynilad said.

According to the company, the two-year CBA is effective until Jan.1, 2023.

The rank-and-file union has ommitted to fully support the company so it can sustain the delivery of quality service to over 9.8 million Maynilad customers.

Maynilad is the largest private water concessionaire in the Philippines in terms of customer base.

It is a concessionaire of the MWSS for the West Zone of the Greater Manila Area, which is composed of the cities of Manila (certain portions), Quezon City (certain portions), Makati (west of South Super Highway), Caloocan, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Navotas and Malabon all in Metro Manila; the cities of Cavite, Bacoor and Imus, and the towns of Kawit, Noveleta and Rosario, all in Cavite province.
