1 Apr 2025 – Some 60 union officers ( 38 women, 17 men, 13 youth) coming from NTUC Ph affiliates from various parts of the country conducted a Blended Celebration of Women’s Month with the theme “Collective Bargaining for Women and Youth Issues” today.

The program started with a Short Prayer; a moment of silence to remember Women committee chair Sister Florencia Cabatingan and workers and people who lost their lives, were injured, or missing in the March 28, 2025 Myanmar/Thailand earthquake; and Welcome Remarks from NTUC Phl Women committee chair Josefina Lim.

BWSC/DOLE OIC – Director IV Leilani M. Reynoso presented an update on the series of activities led by DOLE for the ratification and then implementation of ILO Convention No. 190 on violence and harassment in the world of work.

NTUC Phl Deputy General Secretary Angelita Senorin conducted an “Orientation on ILO C190 and Prospects on its application in CBAs and other enterprise documents”.

The NTUC Phl Honorary General Secretary then discussed at length “ Negotiating a company policy on VnH (violence and harassment)” going through (1) NTUC Phl flagship WaY CBA provisions; (2) VnH CBA provisions [ILO C190 language]; and (3) Other ‘Good’ WaY and Family CBA provisions.

The discussions on VnH, including the interim results of the NTUC Phl Survey on VnH incidents in workplaces, will be continued in the 28 April blended celebration of the April 28 International day of mourning for dead and injured workers and the May 1 Labor day.
