House seeks SC action to usher in new lawmakers

HOUSE Speaker Prospero Nograles on Wednesday announced that the House of Representatives would petition the Supreme Court (SC) for a Declaratory Relief to usher in new partylist representatives in light of the recent High Court decision adding 32 party-list seats in the House.

THE Supreme Court ruling that will add 32 party-list seats to Congress would cost P2.5 billion and push the number of lawmakers past the 250 limit allowed by the Constitution, House leaders said yesterday.

against the military junta in Myanmar
to carry out the 2021 ILO Commission of Inquiry recommendations
against serious violations of Forced Labour and Freedom of Association protocols.
