MANILA, Philippines – President Aquino’s triumph in the May 2010 presidential elections ended almost eight years at the helm of the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) by retired police chief Leandro Mendoza and marked the entry of corporate executive Jose de Jesus.
The year 2010 faced the Bureau of Immigration (BI) with reforms and challenges left behind by the previous administration and pursued relentlessly by a career official who was appointed as acting commissioner by Justice Secretary Leila De Lima.
MANILA, Philippines – After leaving the presidency, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo continues to walk the corridors of power, but this time in the halls of Congress, after making an unprecedented move of running for – and winning – a lower position as congresswoman of Pampanga in the last May elections.
BELIEVE it or not, 2010 may be considered as a year of changes. Well, at least, in the National Government.
